
Modular Space.
How can a room adapt to best suit the users objective.
PROBLEM
In the crazy world of consultancies, every engagement comes with unique problems and each problem having individual requirements to produce creative solutions. These requirements can range between any number of tools, tech, people, space, or furniture. The problem is that not every room has what is needed for the user to produce creative, innovative solutions. The challenge was to design a seamless experience within a space that can adapt to the user's needs.
SOLUTION
The proposed solutions were a set of mobile modular walling units coupled with a codified experience architecture method (C.E.A.M). With each walling unit being mobile, any room could adapt and be arranged to the user's needs. Large format touchscreen housed in each wall unit could be combined to create any screen size necessary. To ensure the user's engagement is seamless from start to finish, C.E.A.M was designed to help plan the End-to-End experience. Taking into consideration the user's objectives, time of day, activities, space required, number of people, and engagement timeline. C.E.A.M would then provide a detailed End-to-End Experience playbook unique to the user's engagement and problems being solved, it would consist of room layouts, activities, project timelines, amount of catering, and the possible emotional journey of attendees.
Deliverables
Working wall unit Prototypes - Full scale working prototypes were built, for user testing.
Research and user testing - Full scale Show case was built, to demonstrate experience and benefits of working in this way.
UX prototype -Wireframes were develop to demonstrate workflow and experience of using C.E.A.M
Project management - ‘Modular space’ encompassed multiple companies and divisions, either within research and design phases, user testing, and manufacture. A level of project management was needed to ensure everyone was aligned of their objectives.
